Saks x Pentagram Campaigns
Early on in my career I had the privilege of collaborating with legendary design firm Pentagram on several seasonal campaigns for Saks Fifth Avenue. Michael Bierut and a then-unknown Jessica V. Walsh were brought in by Chief Creative Officer Terron Schaefer to shake things up at the heritage retailer and attract a new generation of shoppers.

Here’s an excerpt from the September Fashion catalog where custom graphics and copy (mine) guide the reader through seasonal trends. The tongue-in-cheek twist is the digital design elements juxtaposed with print photography shot in the actual store windows. Saks was slow to embrace online shopping, but at least they had a sense of humor about it!
@SAKS CAMPAIGN-BEAUTY
For the September Beauty Pentagram campaign, I developed the campaign hook and trend language and partnered with Emily Weiss of Glossier and makeup artist Christian McCullough on how-to video scripts.
LOOK CAMPAIGN-PRINT
With a short and simple message, these bold graphics kept things fun and focused on the clothes.

With Pentagram, we designed a series of shopping bags featuring a “choose-your-own adventure” flow chart-type design, transforming an everyday item into a collectible keepsake.
